Cookie Policy
§1Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how Kropee ("we", "us", "our"), uses cookies and similar technologies on the websites and applications that link to this policy (the "Services").
It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data more broadly.
§2What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a site. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, and session tokens. They help the Services function, remember preferences, measure usage, and improve security.
§3How we use cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Enable essential functionality such as authentication, session management, and security (fraud prevention).
- Remember your settings, such as language or UI preferences.
- Understand how the Services are used (analytics) so we can improve performance and features.
- Support integrations you choose (for example, payment checkout flows).
§4Cookies we use
The table below lists the first-party cookies we set directly. Duration shown is the maximum; cookies may expire sooner depending on your activity.
4.1Strictly necessary cookies
| Cookie name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| caption_session_token | Authenticates your signed-in session. Set by our authentication system (Better Auth). Required for the dashboard and all authenticated features. | Up to 7 days; refreshed on activity |
| caption_session_data | Stores supplementary session metadata alongside the session token. Set by Better Auth. | Up to 7 days |
4.2Functional cookies
| Cookie name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| locale | Stores your preferred display language for the dashboard (e.g. English or Traditional Chinese). | Up to 400 days |
Without strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to sign in or use authenticated features of the Services.
§5Third-party cookies
When you interact with our payment checkout (powered by Polar), Polar may set cookies on their checkout domain to manage the payment session and prevent fraud. These cookies are governed by Polar's own Cookie and Privacy Policy (polar.sh/legal/privacy). We do not control these cookies.
We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
§6How long cookies last
Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain for a fixed period or until you delete them. See Section 4 for specific durations.
§7Your choices
- Browser settings: You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent sign-in and dashboard access.
- Account settings: You can change your language preference under Settings → Language, which updates the locale cookie.
§8Do Not Track
There is no consistent industry standard for "Do Not Track". We handle your privacy choices as described in our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
§9Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and revise the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will endeavour to provide reasonable advance notice.
§10Contact
For questions about cookies or this policy, contact us via the Contact page on our website or the details provided there.
